This Week

I’m trying to be really good this week, but even still, there were a few things I didn’t resist, because the deals were good.  Die for Me is only $1.99 for a limited time with bonus content, so just click the image to be taken to the Amazon page to buy it if you have a Kindle.  If you have a Nook, I’ve provided the B&N link below in a link!  Wraith was free and is still free if you are a Prime member, so same thing: click the image to go to Amazon and other links are below.  The Promise by Jessica Sorensen is only $2.99 (I actually bought this for my friend who’s been using my Nook library LOL…she felt it made sense for me to keep going with the series and have me just lend to her so she didn’t have the last two and I the first two – makes sense) and….AND…Demons At Deadnight is special, ya’ll.  A mother-daughter book blogger team wrote it and it’s been really well-received!  I skimmed some reviews that say it’s excellent and I COULD NOT RESIST.   Support fellow bloggers and pick this baby up, it’s only $0.99 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble .  And then tell me what you think – I am looking forward to reading it!

Holy hell in  hand-basket, this was some kind of week, wasn’t it?  I would like to find something really cheery, but that wouldn’t be very honest with myself – or YOU. So here is my inspiration this week:

After this week’s events, if there is one thing that has come out of it for me (okay, maybe two), it’s that I’m inspired to not repeat the mistakes I saw, never steal someone else’s content and be as honest with myself and others as I can.

I also came away having made some new blogger friends, but I hate that this was the catalyst.  Oh well.  Anyway, this is my inspiration this week.  To be a better blogger.

    Yeah, I mean you would hope that if NOTHING ELSE, people take away the message that plagiarism really isn’t a thing you want to try.

    Hey, Jennifer! A few years back, when I was a freshman in college, a very prominent businessman (and owner of several basketball teams, as well as sponsor of how many buildings at my university) was found to have plagiarized one of his speeches. Bits and pieces from JKR’s speech at one university, along with others, were found in his.

    Since the guy’s really famous and rich, well, it was horrible. Everyone went crazy. The school’s anti-plagiarism policies escalated. (I do think ghostwriters made his speech, but hey. Still.) And when what just happened online, well, happened, I was reminded of that. It’s horrible, yes, but blaming won’t really fix things. Now we have to be aware of what we post, from whom we draw inspiration, and the like. Let’s all be better bloggers.
