Welcome to my first Fraterfest post! Fraterfest was created by Kimba the Caffeinated Reviewer and she is celebrating the month of October by reading books with things that go bump in the night in them. To kick-start this, she is hosting the Fraterfest Read-A-Thon, inspired by author, Rhiannon Frater!
I have a huge TBR pile, and my goal is to read a minimum of three books (a lofty goal, I might add, because I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and I’m traveling to Pennsylvania for the day on Sunday to visit the boyfriend’s little kiddo!). Here is a list of books I am hoping to get through:
AND…
If I manage to get through all of these, I am going to break open Harry Potter for the first time ever. There you go folks, my very ambitious goals. Good luck to everyone else who is participating and happy reading!
Sunday update:
So far I have finished ShadowBorn but instead of Drain You or Defiance, I decided to pick up Fang Girl by Helen Keeble, which came in a surprise package from HarperTeen on Saturday! So far it’s been just okay, but it’s a quick read and I’m almost done. And there is still tomorrow! Hope you guys are having a good RAT!
Monday (AM) Update:
I finished Fang Girl! Now I am on to book 3, titled Soriel. As you can see, I through my list out the window. Sometimes I like to fly by the seat of my pants. Stay tuned for an update tonight!
Superlate Wednesday-shouldabeenMonday Update:
I started Soriel, the new spinoff series in the Starfire Angels books by Melanie Nilles, but I didn’t get much reading time in on Monday to be able to finish it. However, I’m really excited to say I’m the first reader for this book, having accepted to beta read for her! I’m a big fan of her series overall, so this is such a pleasure!
I hope everyone had a blast and thank you so much to Kimba for putting this together, it was so much fun!
About Jennifer @ The Bawdy Book Blog
Jennifer became addicted to books when she randomly picked up a Sweet Valley High book in grade school. She never looked back. After blowing through the SVH and SVU series faster than her parents could put them in her hands, she began perusing her stepfather's bookshelves and reading fantasy like Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series, which she still maintains is some of the best fantasy ever. She collects books like the Duggar family collects kids.

I enjoyed Defiance and I’m so excited about your foray to JKR’s world, maybe it’ll inspire you to be a Sexy wizard this Halloween. Have fun at the wedding and drink a shot for me

Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
Oh yes you MUST read Harry Potter! I hope you love it, but I’d encourage you to hang in there until book 3, that’s when it starts getting really good (to me anyway). Good luck!
